We teach in small groups on a fixed weekly timetable, mark every piece of written work before the next session, and tell you plainly what is improving and what is not.

Four teaching lanes, set by stage
Every learner sits in the lane that matches the work in front of them, not simply their school year. A placement session decides which one, and we will say so if a lane is not the right fit yet.

Lower Secondary
Years 7–8Algebraic notation, ratio and proportion, essay paragraphs and the science vocabulary that trips learners up later.

Exam Track
Years 9–10Specification-led teaching with timed questions each week, plus a running list of topics still to secure before mocks.

Final Year Clinic
Year 11Past-paper work in small groups, marked against the board's scheme, with one topic rebuilt from scratch each session.

How placement works
Three steps, about a week
Nothing is booked until you have seen the assessment and agreed the lane.
Step one
Send the enquiry
Tell us the year group, the subjects and roughly when you can attend. We reply with two placement times that fit the timetable.
Step two
Sit the placement session
Forty-five minutes: a short written assessment, then teaching on whatever it exposes, so the visit is useful either way.
Step three
Read the recommendation
You receive the marked assessment and a lane recommendation in writing. Accept it and the first session is the following week.
Our approach
Marking is the teaching
Group teaching only works if someone reads the written work closely. That is where our time goes, and it shapes what is taught the following week.

Work is marked between sessions
Tutors annotate method, not just answers, and each learner starts the next session by correcting their own marked page.

Homework is short and specific
Three to five questions aimed at the error we saw, rather than a worksheet that repeats what is already secure.

Groups stay together for a term
The same tutor and the same six learners, so nobody spends a session being re-introduced to the material.

We report in plain language
Half-term notes say what changed, what did not, and what we are doing about it — no grade-style scores without context.
Questions
Before you enrol
The questions families ask most often at the placement session.
What happens if a session is missed?
Let us know before the session and we hold one catch-up slot per learner each term, usually on a Saturday afternoon. Marked work and the week's materials are emailed either way, so nothing is lost.
Do you follow our school's exam board?
For Years 9 to 11 we teach to the board named on your enrolment form and group learners accordingly where numbers allow. If a group mixes boards, the shared content is taught together and board-specific material is set as marked written work.
Can we start part-way through a term?
Yes, if the lane has a free place. Fees are pro-rated to the sessions remaining, and the first session includes a short recap of anything the group has covered that you have not.
How will we know whether it is working?
You get the marked assessment at placement, marked work returned each week, and a half-term note with two named targets. If we do not think the sessions are helping, we will say so and suggest what would.
Are the sessions ever taught online?
Teaching is in person. We move a session online only when the centre cannot open — a storm closure, for example — and families are told by email the same day with a joining link.
How do term dates work?
We run a twelve-week autumn term, eleven weeks in spring and ten in summer, pausing for the local half-term weeks. Revision weeks before mock and summer exams are timetabled separately and are optional.
Can two siblings attend different lanes on the same evening?
Often, yes. Monday, Wednesday and Thursday each run two sessions back to back, so one learner can be taught while the other waits in the study room with supervised work.
